Assistance Dogs

At The Perimeter Veterans Camp we have 1 dog, Urban. This wonderfull Dog is here for Veterans to Play and Cuddle with whilst they stay here at the Camp, this in itself is a form of treatment. It also allows the Veterans to see if they feel they could or would like to go down the path of getting an Assistance Dog.

Kamali

Kamali (Sadly Passed away 10th of March 2022) aged 7.5 Years (snake bite)

Kamali (John’s Assistance Dog for the past 4 years, John would be lost without Kamali), Kamali keeps John focused and calm and she loves being with her Dad all the time, Unfortunately Kamali is now retired as John’s assistance Dog because of an eye issue. But Kamali still looks after John everyday and loves him to bits. She is rather famous in the Infantry Veteran Community and she is loved by many many Veterans across Australia, she also spends hours and hours with the Veterans when they stay at The Perimeter Veterans Camp

Jedda

Jedda (Sadly, Jedda aged 9 years has passed away also, Jedda contracted cancer and fought a great fight for 5 extra years, Jedda is very much missed)

Jedda (She is Steph’s Dog, however Jedda has a special way about her and always wants to be with the Veterans at the camp site. So we let her do her thing and the Veterans always love having this special dog around) Jedda is going thru some chemotherapy at the moment, we have spared no expense to save Jedda. Jedda’s work with Veterans is special as she is a very special girl! ARH (Animal Referral Hospital) in Brisbane have been looking after Jedda and we must say are the most amazing Doctors and Nurses, they have worked with out local Vets GIVET (Glen Innes Vet Hospital) Matt and Hannah Pope, who have also been so amazing.
